So we're getting ready for our annual Bluebonnet Fly-in and Picnic down here in San Antonio and Saturday we did some formation practice to get ready. Here are a few screen captures from the video.

And the leader breaks for landing...

If any of you are in San Antonio this weekend, or are within flying distance looking for a place to go, please come on out to Cannon Field. If you need information, contact me directly, or visit our website at http://www.als-cannonfield.com. It looks to be a fun weekend, weather permitting. We'd also love to have any WWII veterans out that are able to attend.

Looks like a hoot!

Your practice wx was none too great, was it?

Ah I didn't know you were in San Antonio! My CFII moved there last year. I'll have to find out where he is instructing.

Not warbirds in the conventional sense, but COOOOOOOLLLLL!!

Liaison aircraft ARE warbirds. The L-5 and L-4 especially. Some of the guys flying these things had as many real life combat missions - being shot at and over enemy lines, as any fighter pilot out there, and they were responsible for at least as much damage, too, when they directed artillery fire.
That's part of the story we tell at our event!

I'd be interested in knowing. Is he pretty good?

Ryan I thought Jaime was great! A great pilot as well as instructor. He had a great manner about him. Always encouraged me even when I got really frustrated. And always I mean always took the extra time needed to help a student .A great CFI that became a friend. I'll find out where he is instructing. He does appear on POA from time to time.

NO disrespect intended. As I said, in the conventional sense.

I'll just add this.

Any aircraft important enough to take up valuable space on an LST for use with artillery units, counts as a warbird in my book.
