Anyone familiar?

We have a wedding to attend in Grand Rapids, MN in July (3 hours in the plane vs 12 in a car....I love GA), figured we'd fly up to International Falls and check Voyageurs National Park off the list since we're close.

I don't have the patience for fishing. I'm Thinking About (TM) renting a houseboat. Not cheap, but it seems like a good way to spend some time and see the park. The kids LOVE to swim, and we all like boating, although a 40' houseboat is a far cry from our 20' bowrider.

Anything else in that area of the world worth seeing? It's too bad Angle Inlet never got their airport built.

Been there. Did a week long canoe trip through it. Of course, that was a billion years ago. Go find some cliffs to jump off of. That was a blast. Can find em anywhere from 5' up to 60'. We never went up on the 60' ones, but went about 40-45'. Kids would probably love it.

Been there several times. I enjoy canoeing and always did canoe camping with portages to get away from the crowds. That is what the park is perhaps best known for.

Beautiful area but be prepared fro the mosquitos and black flies.

Little Falls MN is 88 flying miles to the SW. Boyhood home of Charles Lindbergh is there. The mines to the NE and perhaps on your way might be of interest as well.

Little Falls is also the birthplace of li’l old me, my dad, and my granddad. All delivered by the same family doc. I have to imagine he was getting up there in years by the time I came around.

A lot of my family history in and around Little Falls.
