I have been getting voice mail scams over my iPhone with NO phone call.

Since there is no phone call I can't block the scammer. How can these butt wipes send voice mail without a phone call?

Possibly something like Slydial. I used to use it for collections calls once in a while when I didn't feel like listening to the client's excuses. I suppose there are also phone codes to do that, but I don't know what they are.

I had someone call (quite insistently) claiming to represent the IRS and claiming the IRS was filing suit against me. I said I thought this a bit unusual, since the IRS usually communicates with me using registered mail. The other end went suddenly silent...

I've been getting calls from India recently. Clearly a scam, you can here the hubbub of a room full of phone dialers in the background. Their scam is that they work for a Microsoft authorized company and they have noticed how slow my computer is these days, and they would like to help. Am I the one in charge of the computer? etc. I tell them that Yes, I am the guy in charge and that I will not ever give them my credit card until first they can tell me the IP address of my computer. Which they can't. And my machine is running just fine.

I have a special phone number dedicated to people I never want to hear from. It's a MagicJack number. It's the only number I give out for things like loyalty cards and the like. I never answer it because no one I actually want to hear from has that number.

I usually have a recording on that number that starts with a SIT tone and then plays some phone company error message or another. One of my favorites is the pay phone message that the caller needs to make a coin deposit. The current one says that the number can't be reached from the caller's calling area. I also use the "All circuits are busy" one once in a while. But I never use the "Disconnected" message because that might cause the spammers to stop calling, and I want them to waste their time.

Once in a while, I call one of the more persistent spammers, for example, a number that calls several times a day for a few days. If someone answers, 90 percent of the time it'll be an Indian who answers as "Canadian Pharmacy." I then hang up and forward ALL the incoming calls to that number for a few weeks. I get giggly over the idea of one telemarketer calling another and trying to sell them Viagra.

Because iPhones are freaking junk now. I get voicemails all the time from my family and friends and my damn phone never rings. When China builds 5,000,000,000,000 iphone 6's they are probably not quality. I have used iPhones since the 1 and seems every new phone I get has more and more problems. I got the 6 plus because they say the camera is awesome. It is JUNK. On my 4th phone and still have blurry pics. I am thinking about ditching the iphone soon and getting something different. I think my iPhone 3 or 4 were the best.

They call me telling me they're from Microsoft and my computer is sending out viruses.
