We made a couple visits to Snake Island (aka North Fox Island) and have to thank The RAF and all the volunteers for helping to get a really special resource back online and available to aviators. It's fabulous!

A few PoA-ers were there too, including an absolutely beautiful Mooney...

Speaking of snake island, my girlfriend took this pic of the firewood pile at N. Fox:

One of the RAF guys told me that he once saw 85 snakes while mowing the strip before he stopped counting.

great video. I liked the funky music in the beginning. and right smack about the time I said to myself "there aint no snakes in this video"..........WHAM, snakes.

We aim to please.

Or terrify.

Depends on the person I suppose. :)

Is that intro music from KSP?

Kerbel Space Program? (I had to google it)

Anyway, I got it from a composer named Kevin MacLeod. Given his distribution model it's entirely possible it's been used in other places that people are familiar with.

Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. :)

Did I hear right, that someone said 'this is nuts' when I landed? Hadn't thought that my landing was THAT bad...:rolleyes:

lol. I noticed the first guy saying "very nice" when I was editing. The second guy does indeed sound like "this is nuts" or "ya nut!". Not sure about the exact words, but I do know they both loved the fact that you brought the Mooney in, so I'm sure he meant nothing by it!

Haha, well, I mean if even a Cirrus can make it in without pulling the chute...:D

And this is a place that you intentionally travel to?

Yeah, his problem was getting back out. Did you notice he had to give it nearly full juice to get out of the ruts he had sunk into? And that was after we had found some pieces of wood to help the situation as best we could.

That's actually a good pirep for people considering visiting. The ground is pretty soft in some areas and putting something under your wheels or having a long enough rope to pull the plane out when it sinks in might be a good idea. Knowing how to tie a truckers hitch could be useful too.
