Definitely an S-2 in the second video. It's great watching him fly out of it. Dad flew S-2Fs off the Bennington and has some great stories about them. Just a great big old Gruman product built tough as heck.

What squadron was he in?

I was with VS-31 Topcats based at NAS Cecil Field while flying the S-3A Viking. The first CO we had flew Trackers. While I'd have to look up the XO who took command, my first skipper of VS-31 was John P. Jones.

Sadly, VS-31 will be decommissioned on March 27, 2008.

What squadron was he in?

Dad and my uncle were both in VS-33 The Screwbirds when it was established in 1960. They were also at the ceremony last year on the Midway when it was disestablished last year.
