Here's a variant, guess the guy inside was claustrophobic?
Very extensive modification of the Comet.
The Brits always had a talent for producing effective, but occasionally ugly, airplanes.
That was an aircraft that was solely designed for ground effect flying.
It's almost as if British planes were the French cars of aviation. The Brits always had a talent for producing effective, but occasionally ugly, airplanes.

Occasionally? Almost always. Spitfire excluded.
Now, now. Let's see if we can maybe change your mind on that:
de Havilland DH 103 Hornet:
Hawker Hunter F.58:
de Havilland DH.88 Comet Racer (remember, this was 1934!):
de Havilland Vampire:
The Mossie:
Hawker Sea Fury:
Vickers VC10 (On a 6 hour connection at Heathrow in 1965, I remember as a 10 year old watching these launch and immediately disappear up into the low cloud on a grey London day):
Avro Vulcan:
And, of course, Concorde:

That's impressive V-12 powered, water cooled, turbo charged, piston engine. You got to love that...As usual, still in development, has fantastic specs (over 400knots at 65,000 feet -- prop driven) and etc. Uglier than home made sin.

I would love to have one of these....
I don't know enough to say. Is there enough air at 65000 for a prop to "bite?" I know some military planes can do it, but aren't all of them turbofans/jets?

Somebody has fantastic specs confused with fantasy specs...
Heh. Not me. I meant it in the original sense of "fantastic" -- as in, "fantasy-like."
I was referring to the promoters.
