Just back from an incredible trip to St. Maarten; didn't "ride the fence" but watched a few people get battered around by a departing KLM 747, and saw a 747 land, too... incredible view from Sunset Bar at Maho beach.

Cool Pics, and thanks for not sharing one of you in a speedo ;-)

"This is a water landing. Wheels are up for a water landing. Confirm, water landing, wheels up. OK proper configuration for a water landing."

BTW, what's with the weird sailboat parts in the last frame???

WTF is that in the foreground of the last slide in the PowerPoint? Looks like, errr, well, gosh, an ultralight or something?

My French is very rusty, but I believe it is another seaplane (hydroavion) that crashed a few days before. Does look like an ultralight, or something different. Not your average 185 on floats.....

Nice pictures, Troy. Glad to hear you had a nice time in St. Marteen. Next time you're in the Caribbean be sure to give me a ring if you have time. The company I work for has a number of aircraft based in SJU from November - May and we have plenty of empty legs between tons of island destinations every day. Riding for free is great...the only hard part is getting back.
