Ack...city life
Heck of a nice guy. He had just flown in from Sheridan, WY with an avg GS of 180 kts. Engine flat rated to 350 SHP. IIRC, an Allison. Has 60 TT and has to go back to the factory for some options they hadn't installed before delivery. Even the wheels were so clean and polished you could eat off them.

I had asked him what's his primary mission--what do you use the plane for mostly? He said, everything.

Hey, no kidding! It's for sale. http://www.controller.com/listings/...509.htm?guid=206D9D34ECB04A988CF5A2011B24BEA1

WOW, I want one! I can't even imagine how much that thing must torque on the t/o roll. Does it have a beta range with the push/pull style power lever?

Did he tell you how much fuel he burned doing that?

Interesting, he is from Alpine, WY... where I once walked into someone's house, and ultimately their bedroom, thinking it might be the FBO.

No, he didn't say but I watched his takeoff...maybe a 300' ground roll and his climb speed reminded me of a jet, of course his initial climb rate was much greater.

LOL, just this morning I walked into a guy's bedroom and woke him up thinking I was in the marine supply store. Wait, I was! But he put his bedroom in the front of the store...don't ask me why.

Turbine Maule ... 85 gal on board and that Allison drinks, what, 50-60 gph? And then there's the price tag ... $850K. That's a tough sell. You could get a Caravan, have tons of room, much better range, and not have the fabric to deal with.
