Hi all-

I got checked out on a Piper Cherokee today. The only problem was my hands go to the right places for Cessnas and I tend to flare too much (for Pipers). I also kept calling myself a Cessna to the tower  .

Winds were calm, next to no turbulance. Toto- I don't think we're in Nebraska anymore. It was a real nice day. A KC-135 and T-38 were also practicing touch & goes on the long runway.

I also kept calling myself a Cessna to the tower

I had such a headwind going into Bullhead once, the tower didn't believe me when I said mooney. "29U, say again type aircraft, Is that a 150?":dunno:

Well Jack i LOVE my warrior, but then i only have 2 hours in Cessna's. Took lessons in Grummans

Long live the memory of Clyde... even if he did think putting holes in the belly was a silly idea. :)

Pa-28-180

EDIT- any reason why the "a" in PA-28 keeps being converted to lower case?!

Alright, Jack! How long was the flight? Was it Clay that checked you out?

No worries. There's another new guy in our tower. During my flight in Arrow 13W the other day, I was called...

Arrow 13W
Cherokee 13W (OK)
Piper 13W (OK)
Comanche 13W (Uhhhh)
Cessna 13W (What???)

And one more that was so out there I can't even remember what it was. Twin Cessna or something like that.

Why- yes it was! Also got the ok to fly the C-150. The flight was 1.0 on the Hobbes. I used the last of the time before the 100 hour inspection. It will be back on line on Tuesday.

:hairraise::hairraise::hairraise:

How dare you take it off the flight line??!!

I thought I was helping! It's a tough job, but someone had to use that last hour. Now you'll have a freshly inspected plane with new oil. On Tuesday, you can take that long XC and not come back to Lincoln very quickly.
