Towplane Hit and Run

Hmm...Sounds like Felix must have been driving around there.

Might be some irate homeowner or farmer. Some hate airplane noise, some are afraid of small aircraft, some resent the hobbies of "rich" pilots. There was a guy who did the same thing not so far from here some years ago. Apparently he wanted to build a big silo or something not far off the airport but right in the approach path and was forbidden to do so by the authorities, and he was some ticked about it. Took it out on the glider tug with his truck. With everyone watching. Not much detective work needed to figure out who did it.

I'm thinking "irate 'soaring widow'".

All kidding aside, that's a terrible thing for any glider club!! Good luck to them getting a replacement quickly... and catching the perp.

like they said on RAS, hopefully the cops catch them before someone in the glider club

No need... The dude offed himself:

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Investigators say the man who was behind the wheel during a hit-and-run accident at the Saratoga County Airport over the weekend has been found dead in his home.

Police say a vehicle drove through a fence at the airport sometime overnight Saturday and onto a runway, where it crashed into a plane. The vehicle then left the scene.

According to authorities, 42-year old Kyle Towers had admitted to his sister that he was responsible for the crash, after he lost control of his vehicle while driving Saturday night.

When police arrived to interview Towers at his residence, they found him dead from what's being described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

What he did sucked, but not worth killing yourself (or others) over. Sad ending. :(

I doubt that dinging the Pawnee was what pushed him to suicide. The airport episode was probably part of a general meltdown.

Those stupid upright silos will take 20 years off the life of a farmer anyway. Bunker silos are the way to go.

What a silly thing to do, destroy somebody's property for such a stupid reason.
