Tough Kitty!!

A gator? That's one tough kitty -- hungry, too!

It's a leopard, killing a crocodile (Africa);).

That's almost as cool as this now-famous clip, also shot at Kruger (speaking of tough kitties):

I've always heard that Cape Buffalo are the baddest, meanest critter in Africa but jeez.... I wonder if the calf was healthy after it got away? If it was he was going to be very popular with the ladies - "I got this one from the pride of lions and THIS one from the croc that had me at the other end..."

Here's a Cape Buffalo just exuding "attitude". Took this picture in Kruger National Park in October 2005.

Crocs are usually top predators so I think it is unusual to see one become lunch. Good for the cat! :cheerswine:

Too bad he didn't know how to use a gun, he would have saved a bunch of trouble.

Although I think he has a lot stronger teeth than I do, good for him.

I once saw the Siberian Husky I used to have take on a large raccoon when the dog was on a tether. The raccoon was just wandering through as far as I could tell and just didn't seem to care that the dog was in the way. The dog kept dancing around making quick lunges at the coon. Several times she got the coon by the back of the neck and shook/tossed it around. Finally she snapped it's neck. Now a coon isn't anywhere near a full grown alligator but a mean large one like this was is generally fearless for good reason.
