Ok, So I just picked up a new-to-me 2003 Blue Vibe. The car started out life in Ohio then made it's way to NY state where it lived for a while so it has a front licence plate mount. Since PA doesn't have front plates I've been trying to find something to fill it with besides free advertising for the dealer I bought it from.

I was thinking this....

but still looking for other options.

Then I found this....
http://www.skygeek.com/carprop.html

Would both be too much???

I really thought that it a "women fly" or " girls fly too" plate or something along that line would be cool but I haven't found one yet.

Any other suggestions?

That's pretty good. Though the cryptic writing at the top may scare some folks who don't know what those mean.

Your average non-flyer would probably think that they're some sort of cult-type writings. :D

I think that plate plus the spinny prop would be perfect. Of course, the Vibe's engine has the exact opposite characteristics of an airplane engine - it's overweight, makes no power below 6500 RPMs, etc. But it's attached to a constant speed... err... 6-speed manual transmission. Missa is even learning how to operate it, with a little help from a student pilot who takes "Traffic over Maynard Street Bridge" to mean "Report over Maynard Street Bridge" over the radio. Very good, young Jedi. ;)

Hey, there's an idea... I wonder if we could turn a blue knob into a gear shifter? That'd be a great accessory. Don't forget a black knob for the throttle, and what would the red knob be? I'm not sure.

The key, perhaps?

Just so eveyone know... It's been ten years since I drove a manual on a regular basis and he's harrising me on how I was driving on the first day I had it.... and I've only had it for 4 days now.

Oooo... I like that.

I like this one. I had it on my car for a while, but then the state issued front license plates, too. Bummer!

If you're going to go geeky, go all the way. I vote for the prop.

if you're going geeky, choose the prop, attach it to a small generator and wire it back to the car's battery ...

If you're going to do that you might as well just put a turbojet on there. Not that I've done that or anything ;)

I have the car prop - and it gets second glances and smiles everywhere I go. I buy a new one every other year or so at OSH, as the wooden propeller has about a 2 year TBR (but at least no ADs!).

Tristan has the propeller license plate. I drove her car for awhile when she was in Florida. Never have I had so many people stop, point, and laugh at me.

As far as hooking it up to an electric motor. No point. The wind does a great job at spinning it. When you come up to a stop it'll slowly "spin down". This is when people notice.

I didn't say motor, I said generator ... do it yourself hybrid!

have a plate made that says "Aviation Hybrid" and put that on the front along with the propeller! :D

I like the prop too.

The Knack is great.

Can he lead a normal life?

No, he'll be an engineer.:goofy::yes:

That says it all:D

Hey, I resemble that remark! Got things that didn't work as a kid, took them apart to see what was inside and put them back together. Then they worked. Seemed perfectly normal to me.

Dilbert isn't a comic strip. Dilbert is a documentary.

Since I have a habit of finding parking lot curbs by (gentle) touch, I'm SURE I'd break the prop in no time.

Ahem... and you make no mention of the constant harassment you give me at work for any reason? ;)

Besides, you're doing fine with it. The shift pattern is unusual and ambiguous at best. :)

Oooo... I like that.

I wonder if someone here happens to have an old prop governor knob sitting around that we could weld into a shift knob? It'd just screw on.

Thanks for the pirep and I guess I'm glad I'm not the only Geek who thinks this is soooo coool.

I really want the one that says sky geek on the top too. I've seen a couple of places selling them. :D

Well perhaps someone can just take the PoA logo and get a few made. Or does the MC want to go about the whole licensing thing again. We all know how well that turned out ;););)

I wasn't going to go there.....

Well, I ordered it last night... the final choice was Pathological Flyer framed by the "sky geek" version of the car prop. :D

Figured with what I do I have to show off the nerdy geek in me.... :goofy:

I haven't appropriately geeked out my cars... but I wanted to get the 3-bladed prop for my front hitch.
