Things going up in smoke at China Lake

Million dollar missile destroys $3000 pickup truck. Your tax dollars at work. Makes for a cool video though.

Just another recruiting video.

Yeah, it was so much more cost effective to send 100 bombers out to saturate bomb an area with dumb bombs and have 20% losses and consider any bomb strike within 3 miles of the target area a success...

Then again, saturation bombing does a lot more than destroy a target.

1) Testing tends to improve weapon effectiveness. If you'd rather see untested weapons fielded, don't be surprised when the cost goes up, not down.
2) It's never been about a dollar-for-dollar trade, it's about being able to take out a threat, and having the threat *know* you can take it out, when you need to. Cost does not necessarily relate to threat effectiveness, as has been demonstrated over and over recently.

Nauga,
keeping their heads down

Having a family member in the war fighting business, yeah, test that crap. . . In advance.

Who doesn’t have a family member in the war job? It’s our best export for our lazy ass “allies” who should be guarding their own shipping lanes and running most of the bases we operate.

LOL.

Flying and doing work on the range out there with the mad scientists of the weapons center was some of the most fun flying I had. Always volunteered for those projects.

Comments from people with NO background in something are as amusing as 3-6 year old children explaining how and where babies originate. And much less accurate!
Welcome to the internet sir - Oh and welcome to POA.
