San Diego, it's almost a sin to live here and not own either a boat or an airplane. The weather is perfect today, sun, warm, clear, light wind, I'm going flying, right now. :D

And what a perfect day it was, I flew up the coast, then inland, then south to Gillespie for lunch. Nice and smooth, even over the foothills, no instructor banging his head against the yoke in frustration, a perfect day and an almost good flight, actually a darn good flight. I don't think I made any mistakes.

Going up again with my instructor tomorrow.

One time when I lived there, I owned both.:D (I lived in SD on a couple different occasions, first time owning a boat, second time owning a plane and captaining/running/living on an old schooner that belonged to someone else, third time just on a boat for a few months, but no plane.:( ) If it just wasn't so cold all the time there.... Only time I was ever warm living in SoCal was when the Santana's were blowing, otherwise the breeze off the water kept everything cold, and then the low humidity just dried me out as well.)

Yea, the cold can get you down out here. I understand the Chamber of Commerce is trying to get the that big Alaskan dog sled race moved down here this year. I can't recall the name of it, even if I did, I probably couldn't spell it.

I lived on my sailboat for twelve years while I built my business. Actually, that was when I was in my thirties, I did have a good time. :)

San Diego is like any other part of the country, only much nicer. No matter where you move to, it takes about a year to acclimatise to the weather.

I never did care all that much for Florida. I took my survival training in north central Florida, not exactly sure where. They parachuted us in for a week of strolling about the countryside hoping for a McDonald's to appear. Nasty snake infested place, I got stung by scorpions three times. Just don't have even one fond memory of Florida, not a one.

Ok. Im jealous. I spent 5 weeks out in CA and feel in love with the state. My cousin lives in San Diego and him and his wife just had a baby boy back in Sept. I hope to go back out there next year to visit.

Yep, yesterday was nice. Flew down to Ramona and back for some more complex/hp training. Today would have been good, too. Hoping for more of the same tom. for a quick trip to Palm Springs. :fcross:B)

Btw, not to brag, but I've got both the boat(s) and the plane, etc. I only mention this becuase, I'll sell you one of the boats.......24' Laveycraft. I'm seem to be attracted to the cheap hobbies.....doh!

I had an Erikson 27. I sold it after I bought my house. After twelve years living aboard a small sailboat, I was pretty much done with boats. Sometimes when there is a good stiff breeze and the ocean is white-capping, I kinda miss it. I can't afford an airplane and a boat, I just don't have the time either. Besides, this is an airplane forum, I like airplanes better.
