The instructor I had from PIC for my instrument rating loaned me his printed copy of that the night before my checkride telling me that was my only assignment for the night. I found it was traditional for students to leave him a note on the flyleaf after reading it.

Dad gave me a paper copy of The Shepherd when I was a teenager, still have it.
