the "not worthy of it's own thread" thread

I did not receive a surprisingly low insurance quote this week.

ugh, I'm waiting on my quote as well........

Our insurance went way way up, no change in partners, no change in hull value, everyone flew a good bit and accrued more time, no incidents, no claims ever. What gives?

I bought a new to me pool table a week ago, it's going to get set up tomorrow.

Oh, and I built a pergola yesterday.

In a way it brings things full circle here...

Insurance went up. That's what.

Earlier this year I was talking to an adjuster who was taking a tour of the univ with her son, She said the rates are going up for everyone but didn't have a reason.

I flew on Friday in a Cub that had the frame broken the Monday before, and nothing but fun happened.

I wanted to fly but (insert another lame excuse here)

I can't look my plane in the eye anymore. :(

I get to go down and stand on the street corner to go make my money the hard way this week.

Road construction imagery, drone basically flies itself

In the past two weeks I've flown seven times, just because. Also, as a bonus, here's somebody I captured doing a simulated engine out. This was his second attempt, the first one gave me some concern because he missed the airport and was lined up to put it down in the field next to the runway and I wasn't sure that one was simulated. He obviously got it stopped before the end of the runway, but it must have been kinda close based on his speed and where he put it down.

who has the flying monkey?

I sat on the beach with my family and just thought about flying. And of course mentioned that I wasn’t flying to my wife and kid each time a Cub flew by towing a banner.

i don’t think my wife and kid appreciated the commentary.

And yes I am posting this from the beach. Browsing PoA. Not flying.

Beach works for me, you lucky dog!

spent part of the morning painting homasote...

COVID isolation and it being hot as heck outside has me flying full scale at dawn and breaking into the old stash of plastic kits. I hadn't built a model in 20+ years and I've built three this summer.

US Bank...last straw...

recently sold a vehicle, the kid had $19,000 in cash because he had recently sold something. US Bank charged me .25% to deposit money in my account because it was cash. Not immediately...showed up when I got my statement. Really? WTF?

they reversed the charge after I bitched about it, But that's just another in long list of BS charges they try to regularly impose. That was the last straw.

today I thought I hit a bird on short final. upon further inspection, I in fact did not hit a bird on short final.

what else ya got that's not quite worth it's own thread?
I thought I didn't hit a bird cruising along at 1000' AGL a couple of weeks ago. Upon further inspection, I in fact did hit a bird.

Saw what looked like a small sparrow pass really close down the left side and thought to myself "Gee that was close". Got back to the hangar and found feathers and some goo stuck on the prop and had to clean blood spatter off the underside of the left wing. Thankfully it was small enough that there wasn't any damage.

In my cherokee I once flew under a bird... I think I scared the .... out of it.

Not sure this belongs here...that would bug me, too...enough to start it's own thread.... ;)

A cooling system pressure test kit with whole bunches of radiator cap adapters doesn't have one that fits a Rotax 912.
A new radiator cap for said 912 is $80ish.

Learned, the hard way, that riveting with a bucking bar isn't as easy as folks make it look.

I just told someone at work that I couldn’t join a call cause I was kinda busy when in fact I wasn’t really busy.

I flewed today. It's been almost two months since I flewed, but I flewed today.

Still not current since I only have two landings and I've got 23 days to make another one. It didn't help that Tucson only had one runway at the time and it was the big one.

But I flewed.
