The iPhone: Now there's a helicopter for that

I thinking there's some serious mischief to be committed with something this cool! Any idea what it costs?

Since it has to be used outside, is the iPhone's screen that easily seen in full sunlight?

They haven't released a price yet. I would hope it wouldn't be more than $200 or so.

I wouldn't bet on that price. The cheapy-cheapy starter RC helicopters (hobby shop real RC, not Radio Shack) start in that range and go way way up from there. For a decent helo w/cameras, WiFi, etc...??

I've never had any issue at all seeing my iPhone display is direct sunlight.

Since it has to be used outside,

It does? :dunno:

Yep, no problem at all. Auto brightness that actually works, what a concept...

Hey, I can dream, right? I've seen plenty of $99 helicopters out there, I figured if you double the number of rotors... Sigh. :nonod:

I was too strong when I said "has to". The article mentions it as an appeal of the toy, the video I saw was outside, and my mother (and Leslie, for that matter :)) would never let me fly that thing around indoors. I should probably have said that "I would have to use it outdoors"!
Parrot's founder and CEO, Henri Seydoux, thinks the toy will appeal to people because they can play with it outside — something you don't usually get with a video game.
