I haven't flown in 88 days and had 2 landing that day. Two days after, I had 2 landings. So tomorrow will be the 90th day for carrying pax, so its the last legal day. A landing at destination and back home will add 2 in the books, but I need 3 to reset the clock and it doesnt make sense for me to come out again in 2 days just to go around the pattern once.

So tomorrow is another mission flight - take MIL home. My mom will come for the ride both ways. My mom last flew with me during my intro to training flight (whew), so basically she's new to GA.

If you were in my shoes, when would you do that trip around the pattern? Solo before departure? With both moms on board? 1 mom on board? Or solo after landing back home?

I think you mean, "I haven't flown in 88 days and had 2 landing that day. Two days afterbefore, I had 2 landings. So tomorrow will be the 90th 91st day for carrying pax, so ittoday's the last legal day."

Yes. (EDIT: Three of them.)

I am concerned about the potential for some Wx to slide in, so this will have to be a quick turnaround for maximum cushion. Thr last circuit will have to be back home.

Dave- I'm sure something got lost in translation, but today is the last legal day. And you're right, I will need 3 landings. 1 will be the outbound trip, one back home, plus another for resetting the clock.

Just go out to the airport ten minutes early and do three touch and goes to reset your counter.

This is the correct answer, Jay.
I get the impression that you think you have to make 3 full-stops and that each has to be at different airports? and maybe spread over multiple days?

No, do as Jonesy suggests and just do three Touch and Goes --- and you're golden.

I guess. I don't see how you made two landings two days after you last flew. Parker pen time?

Last TRIP was on the 8th and I made 2 landings. Two days later I returned and made 2 more.

Nevertheless the problem was solved. Yesterday I did 3 takeoffs and landings. 1 was the trip to take MIL home. 2nd and 3rd were at home drine with mom aboard. She liked the flight.

:yeahthat:

Might as well practice your engine outs and short fields while you're at it. Having not flown in 3 month you probably need it.

His log book will be at home anyway, so if he prangs something it's going to look like he "cooked the books" anyway. Fly more or plan ahead.

Every time I have a break from flying it's programming the GPS where I feel the loss the most. Otherwise, the flight went smoothly. Airmanship and radio comms were decent.

I could save myself some time by entering my route in a saved FPL since it's a route I've flown many times. I certainly could have saved time by using the reverse route function on the return trip, but since I used FPL0 that option wasn't available to me:confused:.

You are rating your proficiency based on things you do on regular flights. The issue is that since you don't normally stall the aircraft or lose an engine you don't know how you will perform when you need those skills. There is just too much stuff in aviation for pilots to be completely proficient just by doing every day flying, training flights need to be done.

For example yesterday I flew for almost 4 hours which included lots of straight and level flying, lots of IMC, and a few approaches with landing. In about a week though I still plan on going up for the sole purpose of practicing much less standard stuff just so I can be proficient with everything. You never know when you'll desperately need those skills.

Point noted. Once in awhile i have someone in the right seat giving me a workout.
