Just got this from the FAA:

FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR FROM OMAHA, NE TO DES MOINES, IA ON MONDAY A NOTAM has been issued that will restrict flight in the area during President Obama's planned bus tour.
***THIS TFR WILL COVER A LARGE AREA FROM OMAHA, NE TO DES MOINES, IA ON MONDAY. THE SIZE, LOCATION, TIMES, AND AFFECTED AIRPORTS FOR THIS TFR MAY CHANGE AS THE PRESIDENT MOVES ALONG THIS ROUTE. PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK WITH FLIGHT SERVICE BEFORE ANY FLIGHT***

Edit- please don't make this political. Both parties have enjoyed the use of the presidential TFR now and neither seem to want these TFRs to go away.

Well, gas prices in Iowa have been rising over the last week or two. Maybe Romney and Obama are carpooling (buspooling?) to save some cash?
 
God help anyone trying to fly in that area. That TFR looks...confusing.

I think that's tuesday's TFR. There appears to be a different one on Monday??

There were similar ones last election. Gotta go visit the heartland in a bus, you know. Makes the trip feel down-homey.

Millionaires with real rocket launchers look so down to Earth and approachable riding around in a bulletproof and bomb-proof Greyhounds.
 
TFRs that move with a bus are really tough.

It would be easy for lots of unwitting violations to happen.

I didn't think so. I attended the Romney/Ryan event at the Waukesha County Fairgrounds yesterday, which is immediately - and I mean walking distance immediately - adjacent to KUES, my home drome. I was watching pilots doing a lot of pattern work while we waited for the speakers.

Beautiful night for flying last night. Called Columbus fight service and got an update on the moving TFR. I was cleared to the Missouri River! :D
 
I've been flying back and forth over it the past couple days and watching it on foreflight. All I can say is thank god I fly IFR. My FO and I were trying to guess how many pilots are going to get violated over that bus tour.

Any guesses here? And is there a way to find out later?

Oh, some alphabet clubs who claim to be pro-pilot could help track such things, and continue the effort to limit them, but they don't. Their names in "Pilot's Association" and "Aircraft Asssociation".
