Thanks for saying it first. I like my dogs more than most people. They are family. I read that the same way I’d read “I don’t get taking my son for a joyride stuff…” Your dog is living, breathing, thinking, feeling- one of God’s creations. Not just a slave tool for a hunt. I have plenty of hunting dogs in my extended family- they love it. They’re all in the trucks for joyrides too, and on the couches for movie night. I don’t get doing it any other way.And you probably never will.
Sorry, but most people's actions show a dog is a tool, it's just an emotional one. You wouldn't let your child ride in your lap, between you and the steering wheel/air bag, yet I see this daily with dogs. When people lose a child, they don't go out and try to replace them nearly immediately, like I see most dog owners do when their dog dies. I liked my dog and I will miss her now that she's passed...but she wasn't on the same level as my family. Thanks for saying it first. I like my dogs more than most people. They are family.
