Instruction alone? at my instructors rates that's $1200. I assume his offer doesn't include fuel or maintenance on your new plane, so his hourly rate is the only real added value.

Could be a scam, could be a fun retirement gig. Flip trainers for profit and give some free dual instruction. Ebay gets the dreamers, most everyone else shopping for a plane probably already has an instructor.
