It was there. He was about 1000-1200 feet beyond open field at the moment I took the picture. Wiscasset almost always has CW; was once found to be -- by AOPA editor Alton Marsh -- to be the world's 3rd worst CW airport. One of the Hawaiian Islands was 1st; don't remember what was #2.

"I open the canopy when landing because I can, beeyotch."
or
"Corsair and a Mustang taxiing four lanes with the canopy popped screamin' out 'money ain't a thang.'"

I've landed at KIWI several times. Shot the GPS approach to mins, got stuck there for a bit when my starter was going out. Nice airport.

And very nice picture.

:o) I'll have other Texas Flying Legends photos showing up in national distribution. Probably not September -- the publication is about put to bed, now -- more likely to be October.

Wiscasset, below, from DW for 7.

Not really sure that there is anything there to comment on besides a pretty plane.

KRKD, probably. Two crossing runways, and somehow the wind seemed to always cross them both. Great photo (as always)! I do love those Bent-wing Bombers.
