As a photographer, I'm always looking for the better shoot, the better photo. When I go West some day, I hope that I've left some work behind that people will continue to admire. I don't just take photos of airplanes, I'm capturing a moment. I'm capturing a pilot flying their airplane and doing my best to capture the beauty that I see, telling a story.
Steve Zimmermann passed away last weekend after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was an amazing photographer and he certainly leaves behind a portfolio that tells a story. Steve took air-to-air photos as well as aerial shots, or as he put it, he took photos of anything except weddings!
As we all will one day, it's time to hang up your wings, set down the camera and rest peacefully. Your work here is done, and done well.
