Stars and Departure Plates

I know at the bottom left corner of Approach Plates there is a number that only changes when something on the approach has changed.

I do not think this is true for the Stars and Departure plates. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

I'm wagering that when something on a STAR changes they change the number from STARR.1 Arrival to STARR.2 Arrival. Same with departures.

When SIDs or STARs change, they are up-numbered up to nine, then reset to one to be up-numbered again.
