Don't worry, winter will come and make your life miserable again.

it's 68 today in wichita. i'm looking forward to an evening of work on the glider.

We've actually seen blue skies and that yellow thing the last couple of days. Looks like some flying tomorrow.

Bwahahaha -- and I thought you were going to write about having a great ride on your bike on a sunny day.

Word is wx should be nice here on Sunday. I'mo take the bike out for the first time in months.

I took it out last weekend, wonderful 30 something degrees. Fun -- but just too damn cold to make a habit of.

Something tells me you haven't done much motorcycle riding in cold temperatures.... :)

68 on golf course today. TempF, not score.

My yard is turning into a swamp and water is pooling in the window-wells. It must be spring !!!

I had mine out one weekend a few weeks back when there was no ice
and it was right at freezing. Wasn't too bad if you wear long johns and
chaps and sit behind the farings on an Ultra. If I'm going to be on the
highway I'd like it in the 40s. But around town it's not a big deal.

A fairing makes all the difference. Without one, even in the 40s / low 50s, your core upper body temperature starts to drop. A couple hours of it and you'll be shaking for some time after you arrive at your destination. A heated vest would help a lot.

Thankfully for Tristan - I make a good fairing....

She does not require much shelter... 'cuz there ain't so very much of her!

Took my buddy Ed and flew up Lake Huron from Saginaw Bay to Tawas Bay and back.. Saginaw Bay is still iced in but most of the ice shantys' are being moved off... There are some open holes of water and lots of big cracks with idiots crossing them on boards, etc... If the wind comes up and moves the ice pack, they are going to be on the evening news... When we got to Tawas Bay we were surprised to find it open blue water and the sea gulls were loving it... To the North it was only miles of slush as far as the eye could see - 50+ miles - with no solid ice... This is surprising...
March came in like a lamb here in Michigan, so batten the hatches boys, she's a gonna blow going out...

denny-o

Just flew over the ICe Jam at the South end of Lake Huron at the St Clair River. Ir's about 10 miles long on the US Shore and at least that on the CN. They are worried if it breaks up to fast it will clog the river. Lake St Clair is still full of ICE.

Yay, just got out on the bike for the first time this year!! Wore fleece under the armor, but felt comfortable. Beautiful day. More to come.

Have you tried heated grips? It's amazing how it makes the rest of you feel good when your hands are toasty. Heated grips are what keep me going on the early spring/late fall rides here in MN.

Yeap. I have them. They certainly help. The 30 degree wind hitting your chest though for hours at a time still gets ugly. I suspect a heated vest would help.

Two years ago a buddy and me crossed Missouri at night (south to north) with an OAT of 32 degrees. I at least had a full face helmet - whereas he had an open face. It was the longest most miserable ride ever. We had started that morning in New Orleans (about 60 OAT) but it kept getting colder.

Has Jesse tried heated grips??????

You have to visit Jesse's website to learn all the details of his heated grip installation. Pretty interesting.

Me? I'd just toss money at the dealer.

No heated grips, but a good fairing goes a long way. I invested a lot in winter gloves, seems to have paid off. Couldn't get the wing started, and it is still a bit nippy for the Fireblade.

Jesse, if it helps, it was in the 60s here a few days ago.

Today? Snowing. Sigh.

First grill of the year...
