I took it out last weekend, wonderful 30 something degrees. Fun -- but just too damn cold to make a habit of.Bwahahaha -- and I thought you were going to write about having a great ride on your bike on a sunny day.

I had mine out one weekend a few weeks back when there was no ice
and it was right at freezing. Wasn't too bad if you wear long johns and
chaps and sit behind the farings on an Ultra. If I'm going to be on the
highway I'd like it in the 40s. But around town it's not a big deal.
;-)
A fairing makes all the difference. Without one, even in the 40s / low 50s, your core upper body temperature starts to drop. A couple hours of it and you'll be shaking for some time after you arrive at your destination. A heated vest would help a lot.
Thankfully for Tristan - I make a good fairing....

Yeap. I have them. They certainly help. The 30 degree wind hitting your chest though for hours at a time still gets ugly. I suspect a heated vest would help.Have you tried heated grips? It's amazing how it makes the rest of you feel good when your hands are toasty. Heated grips are what keep me going on the early spring/late fall rides here in MN.
