1953, refueling at Twitchell's Airport 3B5. Redone from ground UP; and if I heard correctly she spent three years in Minnesota for the work to be done. About the same as factory new. The owner also has floats for her.

This one's got a larger engine of some kind. the cowl is larger and the scoop is defintiely not OEM.

Without the under tail strake I was at first thinking Norseman.

- - - and The Beaver in action. I had topped-ff my Skyhawk with 12.3. The Beaver topped-off with 53 gals.

Bruce: What do I know? The engine re-builder's sticker -- might be seen in the vertical shot -- doesn't even have a stain on it, so my guess is that Capt. Clark hasn't had it back very long. He said the fuel burn is "22 gph, pending load and performance factor."

Nope, that's a 985. What's throwing you off is it has a "City Prop" on it. Lots more noise sensitive areas now and the three bladed props are a lot quieter.

Similar setup here:

Most of the Beavers around here look as good as that one. Kenmore Air Harbor has re-built probably 100.

I remember Bob Munro saying that one should start with the most damaged broken up hulk. That way it would have more new parts!

These fantastic Beavers are stacked up at the Wiley Post Seaplane Base, in an area known as "the country club." All VERY fancy.

That's right... she's pictured on this site, along with other planes that Caravans Inc has restored.

I knew it was a 50/50 chance when I opened the thread, but, nice airplane anyway!
