According to a Dallas police report, flight attendants had asked Mr. Jones to turn off his cell phone and he responded with, "Kiss my ---." When asked again, he stated, "Kiss my ---. Not happening," the report said.

He remained on the phone for about 20 minutes. The pilot radioed the incident to the Love Field tower and Dallas police were notified. Officers met Mr. Jones at the gate and he continued to "exhibit disorderly conduct," police said.

And the story we'll see next week:

Man kicked off Southwest flight sues
"I was just sitting there minding my own business, and the FA just started yelling at me, threatening to have me arrested. I guess my phone was just too cool for them."

It shouldn't matter if he was using an Underwood manual, when the crew tells, the pax do. Given the lack of respect these days I think we should go back to 'public square justice'.

I heard a story just like that from a flight attendant several years ago. He didn't get to say "Kiss my ass" a second time because the first time he screamed "SHUT UP YOU F---ING C--- CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO CLOSE A DEAL?" Didn't go over too well.

What an idiot. Periodically I see passengers being jackasses. Maybe they
can lock him up.

As for the FCC lifting the bad on cell phones .. I hope they never do. The
last thing I want to listen to during a flight is some fool on their phone.

Amen to that. Think we have trouble with "air rage" now? Just wait until a few pax are stuck next to long play salesmen. Yuck!

This reminds me of a flight I took a few years ago from SLC to GJT on a Skywest EMB 120. A women pax had a small dog in her carry on stowed under the seat. As we were climbing, the dog started scratching at the bag it was in. The women picked the bag up, and the FA told her to put it back as all bags had to be stowed at that time. The women refused, even after being asked several times. Well, the FA calls the flight deck on the little phone, and we turned around to go back to SLC. When we landed at SLC we were met at the gate by the Sheriff and Security. The woman was escorted off the plane (with her dog), and we took off again for GJT. There were more than a few PO'd folks on that plane (at the woman)

I wonder why some folks are just arses. Even when there is no provocation. I was once on a flight where the FA asked the people sitting in an emergency exit row if they were able and willing to execute the dutys necessary for sitting in the row. Apparently the FAs need a verbal YES from the pax. One guy wouldn't answer and then screamed at the FA. What a schmuck.

What's worse is that the cellphone won't work anyway at altitude & cruise speed in an airline tube....

That doesn't stop people from trying. Or using it right up to the point that service dies. Or, I think, watching for it to pick up signal again on the way back down. Only had to kick two people off the plane so far, and one was for a cell phone/PDA thingy (the other was cause she's a nutter butter).

Sounds like a typical, inflated wind-bag of a "salesman" that thinks he is all that because he can "close a deal".

I am glad to hear this schmuck got arrested, butthole.
