Southeast PoA, getting hungry? KDKX 6/2

Not looking very promising. I still have a plane reserved but if the outlook doesn't improve in the next day or two, I'll probably just go ahead and cancel. I can find some indoor activities to do.

Yeah I’m not liking the outlook either. Will keep checking... Family is planning to do Dollywood on Saturday and Sunday, so if all else fails, I’ll just go with them. Than again, that may not pan if there’s showers and thunderstorms around. Meh!

obviously hard to plan around this weather.....let's check in first thing tomorrow (Friday) morning to see how things look. my go-no go will be made early Saturday morning. for those who do make the trip, there are some picnic tables in front of the FBO, seems like as good a meeting spot as any:

if for some reason the weather looks real bad we can reschedule but for now it's close enough to a 'maybe' that it'll have to be a last minute decision for me. if as a group we want to reschedule, speak up, but for now I'm going to try to make it.

If there are only 5-6 of us willing to make the trip, would it be wise to just post pone it to another date so we can get more people involved?

It’s looking like I may have to pull a midnight shift tomorrow night into Saturday morning so I may be out as well. Won’t know for sure until tomorrow afternoon

Right now it looks like it might be possible, so for now I'm in. My club plane got bent so I'm down to VFR at 85 MPH.

Oh hell, WTF does Wendy know about weather. Next you'll be quoting that weather chick, Delvin or something.
It’s just slightly more accurate than Jim Cantore, so I’d say it’s a premium weather source.

I'm so close I could walk to DKX (ok slight exaggeration), so I can make a decision very late go/no go.

Waiting for the 18z TAFs to call it.

I’m waiting for the ‘stick my head out the window at 9am tomorrow morning’ report to make the call.

What time do you plan on being wheels up if its a go? So I know what time I need to be at jqf

10am work for you? Obviously flexible as well as wx dependent.

As long as it's still on and the plane is working I'm good-to-go. I don't see anything "bad" in the forecast, just some clouds. ;)

I can be there 10am ish... will touch base with you before wheels up to make sure the trip will happen...

I can push it out to 10:05 or so if that helps...……..:happydance:

Push it out to 10:07 or 10:08. Give Frank a little wiggle room just in case.

flexibility is the key!

Speaking of wiggle room and flexibility, it looks like the forecast will improve a good bit between 11am and 2pm tomorrow. Maybe mid-afternoon lunch? Make the call tomorrow morning?

I hope to at least see some photos. The Monkey says he's sorry he couldn't attend this time :cryin:

So? I a trip to the shores of NC or SE too far?

Unfortunately it looks like the nice IMC weather may be gone by the time we get there. Dang. ;)

If there is one thing I've learned from this thread is that there are an endless number of weather Apps and sites and everyone has a favorite...
