Last night a poster who is split between here and the Red Board http://forums.aopa.org/showthread.php?p=1453713#post1453713 became abusive on the red board and I had to delete multiple posts and close two strings.

He has chosen to attack me here via PM, because I believe he's on "Red Board administrative holiday" (hasn't heaped abuse on me over there tonight). So I have shutoff my PMs and email from this site.

Those of you who have contacted me before know how to get me. :(
 
After reading much of his stuff, he just wouldn't let it go (Proverbs 26:11). I agree with you.

Best thing to say is, "Bless his heart".

Bruce,

There are ways to deal with this that don't punish the rest of the board members. Report it to the MC and let them take care of things. If he's being abusive to you he's breaking the rules of this board and he will be dealt with.
 
Some people get all worked up about stuff on the internet, don't they?

I wonder if this same person would say those things to your face....

Jason, I need a real email addy to do that as the picture is a screenshot. We can't send pics through this board's email, and I refuse to stoop as low as this guy who published my request via redbd PM to please remove the offensive stuff and repost.

Though I don't think he'd be embarassed. Nothing seems to stop this guy.

What is the deal with horrid people attacking or at least seriously abusing the snot out of really good people this year?

At least there's only another 44 days of this bunk to endure before it's next year.
 
As a mod on another forum I frequent, I am frankly amazed by the childishness of grownups at times...

Well I just followed the link over to the Red Board and just perused the site a bit. I had to get a new password, it's been so long since I was over there.
What a waste of effort and bandwidth. There is a reason there the Blue Board even exists and I'm glad for it.
 
One of the mods on Airline Pilots' Central has this happening as well. She's the nicest person ... which may explain why certain people are singled out. No good deed shall go unpunished. It's just bullying. Hang in there, all ... :)

If it's abusive enough, consider getting the law involved. If he's that big a nutcase ... and everybody knows your business address. :(
 
The MC has taken action - and greatly values Dr Bruce's presence and expertise. He is one of our most valuable members.

Perhaps we should have Nick pay him a visit. I know that would stop me.

I am sorry to see that you are going through this..

I just wanted you to know that even though I personally never needed your assistance I have silently admired what you do to help others.

Just yesterday I had read the thank you post from someone that you helped on the red board. I wanted to post something to the effect of "BRAVO" to Dr. Bruce but just couldn't find the right words to post. If we were together in a room I would have made sure to have shaken your hand and thank you for what you do for others.

I hope knowing how highly you are regarded might help you to hang in and instead we try to get the instigators and bullies to leave.

Kent, I was thinking you should go along with Nick on the visit to the perp when I wrote the last post:D. You wouldn't need to say anything just stand there looking intimidating.

Reminds me of the time I rejected a post to the Usenet newsgroup sci.nanotech and the poster wrote a script to bombard my email account with almost 10,000 emails. But being the man that I am (mostly laid back and lazy - wrote my own script to handle the flood,) I told him he was lucky he wasn't on the receiving end of a lawsuit - and then I approved more posts by him later.

You are helpful to others, but my observation is that you also have a short fuse of your own. Count me among those who think you should consider not moderating discussion groups.
 
I'm a moderator on a couple of sportbike boards. You know, the kind with testosterone pumped kids that like to really get in to it sometimes.

It amazes me to see that even THEY get along better than some of the regular posters here. I can say that if one of our users was attacked like that on the board and by PM's they would be IP banned immediately. Hopefully the offender has been dispatched.
 
I think you guys should go bolt some machine guns to your planes and dogfight eachother. Don't forget the gun cameras to catch the action. :rolleyes:
