I posted a few weeks ago that I was loosing my hangar and needed to find a new place. Unable to find a close place and running out of time, I put N530MW on the market. It sold within an hour of the ad hitting the web and will be heading to NW Iowa next week. I think the next one will have the folding wings so I won't have to worry about hangar space. I really liked this one and only got to put about 5 hours on it, that's what sucks about the whole thing.

I've always said that ownership is determined by hangar availability. Nobody seems to believe me.

So true Bruce, I had only two options, one hangar 1.5 hours away and one 2 hrs away. The one two hours away was $255.00 a month, a big difference from the $75.00 I was paying.

Sorry Bruce, I owned an airplane for years without a hangar. it can be done, though it was not good for the aircraft. Then again, it wound up moving to Oregon and it was only an itty-bitty 150, so it couldn't have been too bad.

Sorry to hear. Moving up or out?
I only flew it 80 hours last year. I am so busy this year and next that I don't see myself having anytime to do more flying. I am also likely or at least wishing to be moving in the next year. So I am thinking of selling instead of letting the plane sit. Then buy another one in a year or two. Probably a bigger one then as well. Although part of me is thinking that it might be nice to just have a fabric/tailwheel put around the sky plane.

Good luck on your decision, Scott.

Well as far as Warriors Go or Archer I forget which. Its a nice plane and I'm sure it will go quickly. So where ya lookin to move?

Scott and Bill just curious if you guys considered partnerships rather than selling. Of course if Scott moves that may be more problematic but might be better than letting your baby go.

I think a bunch of us are in that group. I am considering it with the Tiger as well. Maybe we should pool our planes and start a flying club. :D

Wow, Dean. Sorry you had to sell it, but it sounds like it worked out for you in the long run. Was the grass airfield near Ritchie too far away?

Same decision I'm currently considering with the Commander.

#### or get off the pot, buddy. ;)

It's spring, and I've been seeing lots of "good" corporate earnings reports this week. Market's up, so fools and money may soon be wish to be parted again.

So where ya lookin to move?
To where there is water. Florida, which is near my remaining family and two best friends in the whole world. Or the Pacific NW. Which I think is the most beautiful place in America. The SO has family in the Seattle area.

Along with this also would have to be a new job. I have started looking into a couple of things to see what is out there. The conditions are so bad in field right now that it may be hard to find something.

I recommend the partnership avenue quite highly. I've never flown more than 40 or 50 hours a year. Without a partner I could not justify an aircraft. It is difficult to identify the appropriate individual, but once you do it can really make a difference both for you and the aircraft.

MikeA keeps talking about a partnership with his plane. If I stay in the area that may not be a bad idea.

I have considered partnerships in the past but have just not run into the right situation yet. But I am open to it.

Yeah, but who would want to fly a Tiger? :arf:

Only those individual with discerning tastes and the panache to be worthy of the Tiger mystique.

Or those with particularly poor eyesight and/or visual sensitivities.

and who live near former SAC bases ;)

FWIW I have no intention of selling any of my gliders anytime soon.

That reminds me.

Adam,

Can I get a ride from NAS Willow Grove? That's the nearest runway that will be able to accomodate me. Thanks. :D

I WISH I had flown 80 hours last year. Actually, haven't flown that many hours in any year. But I know what you mean about work getting in the way. I'm trying to get my IR and I've been traveling so much this year that I can't even find the time to get the written out of the way. No end in sight until September, either.

Best of luck on the job search. And we'd love to have you in the PNW. Some nice airfields around here. Just have to watch out for ICE when flying in the clouds a good part of the year.

Yes, too long of a drive, so I sold it to a gentleman in Iowa. He will be here Wednesday to pick it up. I am trying to find a Kitfox 4 or 5 with the folding wings or a Gyrocopter, that way I can keep it at home.

No need, if your light, hit your airspeeds and touchdown on the numbers, you are likely to be OK. Let us know and we will put the badminton net up again at the end of the runway.:D:D

I've always said that ownership is determined by hangar availability. Nobody seems to believe me.

13 years of aircraft ownership and the only one that saw a hangar was my MM and that was because it fit in my barn and I had a strip on the ranch. There was no way I could afford a hangar on LGB. I did manage to get a hangar at Harrison AR for a few months while I was teaching sailing on Tablerock Lake in exchange for working the ramp one day a week. Met Sam Walton while doing that....

I just saw this one the other day, he stopped to look at my sonex and I looked at his Kitfox. Real beauty of a plane. I believe it had the folding wing.

Well I made a deal on a replacement toy for the Challenger, I am getting back into motorcycle riding after not riding for about 4 years. It felt good riding again and Kelly likes traveling on motorcyles as well, so she is excited.

Bikes are nice and boatloads cheaper, though an airplane is more useful in the winter, albeit marignally.
