Flying up the Hudson Exclusion is pretty damn cool.

How was it today? I didnt go up, looked choppy. Next time you wanna go up the hudson pick me up at 58M for a cost split.

I KNOW u got more pics than that....

Yeah... It was fine at 1000'. Got real bumpy heading north from there up to Sky Acres. Interesting landing there. Winds do some funky stuff there. Good hamburgers, though.

TFR in the area on Monday...

Love the flight up the river. Have a picture I took looking up at the observation deck ,of the WTC.

I always find that strange. Less chop at 1000 feet than anywhere higher. Yesterday was alleged to be great in the morning then with the clouds roll in the bumps. The higher i went the worse I got. Ended up cruising to lunch at 1500 feet.

Hopped on the tower frequency and the guy was having people do all sorts of stuff because everything in the air was at 1500 feet and coming from north or west.

Also, from the time I landed to the time I picked up my passenger and started up a VP TFR hit. I realized when I got in the airplane and checked the coms and heard Air Force 2 talking. So before doing anything else I talked to tower and they gave me a discrete code and let me depart anyway.

What we see at 7B3 constantly is a shear layer at 1700'-2000'. Below that, fine. Above that, fine. Good bounces right through that layer. Sometimes the layer is down around 1000', so it's real fun on take off.

Today there were a few seatbelt stretchers as I was going over those hills north of NYC. Fun fun. Had to do a go around on my first attempt into Sky Acres. Down low the wind was going one direction, but above there was a tailwind. Hey, if it wasn't a challenge, everyone would be doing it.

So the whackiest thing on my trip home? See two power parasail things about a 1000' above me, when I'm already cruising at 7500'. A small jet had just zoomed over my head, about 1000' above me. These guys weren't on radar, as FF didn't see them.

I have yet to do a Hudson River flight. I think I might have to now.

Welcome to the club!
Let me know the next time you (or anyone) flies into 44N, I will meet you there. I only live a couple miles away.
