Chicago strikes again...

The discovery of mouse droppings that closed Whole Foods Market in Lincoln Park offers a sage reminder to cityfolk that we're not the only ones who like food-centered businesses.

The store, at 1000 W. North Ave, was closed Wednesday by the Chicago Department of Public Health after inspectors found mouse feces throughout the premises, including more than 100 droppings in one walk-in cooler alone,

That surprises me from a Whole Foods, which happens to be my favorite grocery store when it is available. Then again, it is Chicago...

But, but, but,... the mouse droppings are 100% organic!

...and only 50% more money than in other stores.

Methinks Whole Foods just wholly killed any future business. Look for a CEO apology that still doesn't bring customers back. Anybody want Taco Bell?

First Starbucks, then Whole Foods....where are the trendies supposed to go? Kroger? Piggly Wiggly?

Trader Joes!

I have been shopping at a place called Joseph's in Crystal Lake. It is really good stuff, they have so much more food to select form than 12 shelves of Cheerios at Jewel. Plus they carry a wide variety of ethnic food, German, Mexican, Polish, Indian, and Italian. Great Cheese selection too!

You know this wouldn't have happened if Whole Foods had paid off their alderman and/or health inspector like they are supposed to :D.

I bet you if they inspected any other grocery store in the area you'd find the same.

Ted! You live in Williamsport -- near a WEGMANS! The best in-store bakery ever!!

(My son and I did a 200 mile canoe trip down theWest Branch to Harriburg. One thing that got us through days 1-4 was stopping at Wegmans for resupply!)

The dirt people who shop there should be happy. After all, the mice are organic matter and that's all that matters.
