Small plane crash Orlando Sanford International

If an approach is ~1000 ft short of the 9C threshold, touchdown is in a ramp of parked aircraft.

1000 feet short?! I thought this was a training flight. Wasn’t there a CFI on board?

Maybe the engine failed and they didn't make it back to the threshold. Too low to pull the chute. Either way they walked away. Aircraft are replaceable.

I'm assuming the video was shot by someone on the commercial airline ramp.

Training flight, nobody hurt? I'll speculate wildly - if you pull mixture to "idle" instead of throttle, it may get quiet before the instructor figures it out, and if you're dragging the approach you might end up short. But that's a LOT of speculation, wild guess, etc. Glad nobody hurt.
