The original "I don't know it all" of aviation.
Saturday, I got to overfly DFW.
I was headed home after delivering a PnP rescue dog to Dallas Executive (KRBD) and enjoying a good lunch at Delta Charlie's with my pilot friend Steven. Knowing that we are going to be operating in some busy airspace, we had Executive tower set us up with Flight Following.
Once switched to Regional Approach, the controller asked, "Do you want the long scenic route over Arlington and Ft. Worth? Or the more interesting view over the top of DFW?" Of course I opted for Door #2!
A few vectors and turns, and ten minutes later, I'm at 3500 MSL feet over one of America's busiest airports. I had a good chuckle thinking about all of the security theatre that goes on with big airports and airliners, and I'm just on top of them in my "I can go anywhere" spam can. Good thing I'm not a pilot from Georgetown, TX out hunting IRS buildings.
Had a great day flying, and thanks to a friendly controller, I got to finish it with an aviation first for me.
