I read that it is considered operator Preventive Maintenance to change slide in radios. That said, here comes the dumb, rookie plane owner question:

Can one legally slide in a radio replacement WITHOUT having the yellow card for the replacement radio to put in the logs?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I just had to ask.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The answer is :

Who determines airworthiness on owner maintenance? ( preventive maintenance)

Where in part 43 or 91 requires a yellow tag?
