Report: Sleeping Pilots Overshot Airport by 359 Miles

An Air India flight soared past its Mumbai destination on June 4 as its pilots allegedly dozed off in the cockpit, The Times of India reported Thursday.

The napping pilots flew 359 miles past the airport and were still at cruising altitude when nervous air traffic controllers woke them up.

The flight, which was on autopilot flying toward Mumbai, had about 100 passengers on board.
Some know what I'm thinking. But, I'll be good. :)

Actually, no pilot is exempt from fatigue issues. Ya gotta be rested and prepared for the tasks expected of you.

Those guys obviously weren't freight dogs before they flew for the airlines or they would have known this trick:

tune in AWOS or ATIS at your destination and turn the volume up loud so it wakes you up when you get there.

im pretty sure that happens domestically about once a year

I don't EVEN want to think about what that implies...

These guys were stupid. They waited too long til both were tired. One should have been napping on climbout and then been rested for the approach.

I've seen guys nod off between the marker and the runway because he was too stupid to nap a few hours earlier. But I did hit him in the head so he awoke for the flare.
