SI 1st Class expiring before date with HIMS AME

I have a 1st class SI medical that has to be renewed every 6 months. The first available appointment is not until after my medical would expire. I, however, do not need my medical because I am not flying currently. The medical would only be expired by 2-3 days. Is this an issue? Or can I just have an expired SI medical for a couple days until I get to meet with my HIMS AME? My medical gives a 5 year authorization to my HIMS AME provided I follow all the terms of my medical. I'm just nervous that it being expired for that short time period would cause me some problems.

No penalty for lapses.

In my past, I let mine lapse for a short period when I wasn’t flying. Then renewed when I wanted back in the saddle.

No problems, hiccups, or difficulties at all.

his concern is that it is a HIMS SI. Ask your HIMS AME. I do not think a couple of day will effect anything.

Agree. It will only affect the "not valid for any class, after ___/__/____" date.
