What is it with these dudes calling clear of the active before crossing the hold lines?
I'm more bothered by when he raised the gear. Neither the Altimeter nor the VSI showed what I'd call a "positive rate."
I was being sarcasticI am not too concerned about the call before the hold lines, but he should have at least been off the runway. Also, I saw him cleaning things up before he exited the runway. That sort of thing COULD possibly lead to inadvertently hitting the gear switch instead of the flaps. Best left until after clearing the runway and on the taxiway.
And to Tarheel’s comment, severe VFR, whatever. It wasn’t really unsafe as long as he kept moving. IIRC, ATC at a towered field is allowed to call the runway clear as long as the aircraft is clear of (not past the hold lines) and moving away from the runway.
What is the significance of the holding position markings at a non-towered airport?I agree that he should have been off the runway and more correctly past the hold line, but turn him in? Really? It wasn’t as if he was at DFW, or O’Hare.
LOL. OkI was being sarcastic
I forget no one can see my laughing when they read my posts.
Same as a towered field. What is the significance of the holding position markings at a non-towered airport?
I'd be far more inclined to report him for the checkerboard hangar floor that doesn't match his new paint job.
Standards that low from PoAers shouldn't be tolerated.

So I can't cross that line at a non-towered field without a clearance. I've been doing it wrong for years, I guess.Same as a towered field.
For the day when they do build a tower, the markings will already be there.
I’d report him. What an unprofessional display of airmanship and blatant disregard of safety/governing regulations. What is it with these dudes calling clear of the active before crossing the hold lines?

Better yet...y’all tie him up to the stake and I’ll grab the matches.
The sound and vid were not sync’ed.
yup. Never saw him clap.
...or that the original post was tongue-in-cheek. Seemed to be a few serious answers. Why do I get the feeling some here still haven't figured out who it is, LOL...
if only he was looking outside where he could actually see his plane climbing, including that big giant shadow showing a clear climb. also, yadda yadda yadda, something about lag in a VSI.........
