Not sure if it is a common thing with normal people but we are really into B movies.
The cheesier, the better. What I like about sharknado is it is totally intended to be a B movie.
The gore is intentionally comical and the actors are comically over dramatic.
Reminds me of the Troma flix from when I was a kid (https://www.troma.com/)

Nothing like a bottomless bowl of popcorn, a cooler full of beer and wine and a Sharknado marathon.
