Seeking info - Challenge Air?

I have flown for Challenge Air for the most of the past four years. I was not able to do it this year as the date of the event conflicted with my annual recurrency training.

The organization puts on a wonderful event every year and it is a great organization for which to volunteer. The purpose is to provide airplane rides for disabled children, but they really make it a rich experience that goes way beyond just an airplane ride. Each year I have taken away some very special memories and experiences.

Also, as my children get a bit older, I will start to bring them along to volunteer as ground help, so it is a good opportunity to get your kids involved in a charitable organization.

Thanks, Abram, I appreciate the feedback. I think we'll look into it further. Our interest in it would be from a number of different angles. Our grandson has Cerebral Palsy, and our kids have started a social networking site http://www.exceptionalfamilytv.com/ for families with special needs kids. They like to connect with other organizations that provide services for kids and it looks like Challenge Air would be another good contact.

Well, you have my undying respect. I have taken several kids with cerebral palsy over the past couple of years and there is absolutely nothing like seeing the beam on a child's face when they realize they are flying an airplane.

It is very cool stuff.
