The Sedona Airport is owned by the County who has given the Airport a lease to manage the Airport until 2050. Recently they have contacted the Airport Authority and said they want to cancel their lease and take control of the Airport (maybe give it to the City to run). One of the City Council members ran on the platform to close the Sedona Airport. The County already manages two airports (Seligman, Bagdad AZ) which gives an indication of how they would run the Sedona Airport.

If the County were to be successful we all can see where this is going - curfews, restricted flights, more noise complainer influence over shutting the Airport down.

The County has no easy way to cancel the valid lease they gave to the Sedona Airport Authority so they are trying to stir things up with public opinion.

Here is the link to the Red News poll. Please vote for the Sedona Airport Authority.

I get an invalid token when I vote. They probably have some sort of IP check that doesn't allow out of area votes.

Forgive me here, I'd like to help but I can't make any sense out of your statement. Just a suggestion but maybe use a few less indefinite articles, and follow punctuation and capitalization rules, and try to form a prepositional clause.

Really, I'd like to help, Sedona airport is a great place, and I want to preserve the use there but I can't figure out what you mean.

I'm not usually a grammar Nazi, sorry.

It won't take my vote,do you have to have a subscription to vote?

I get the same and have the same suspicion, you need a local IP address to vote.

No. Anyone can vote - for some reason the voting function on the front page is messed up.

If you click the button to see the results ("View Details"), it will open another page showing the current tally in a pie chart and provide buttons to vote.

When I voted on that page, it took.

Cliff Notes version. City Counsleman wants to control the airport running on an 'evil airport' platform. The County owns the airport, and just renewed a contract to 2050 with whatever Airport Authority, and is now trying to oust them to cement a political alliance with said Counselman, however have no legitimate grounds upon which to cancel the contract, so they have set out on a public rabble rousing mission to get done through the political process what they can't get done through the legal process.

Personally I would be happy if the 'Vortex' would suck up the freak show of idiots that Sedona has become and turn it back into a laid back artsy community in one of the prettiest spots in the dessert Southwest.

I've been trying as hard as I can by burning as much gas in my truck, boat and airplane as possible. The news tells me I helped create the polar vortex and several tornadoes and hurricanes, but nothing reached Sedona.

Oh, you don't know about the "energy vortex" people huh? I was introduced living in Avalon since another one is supposed to be there as well. If such a thing existed which I will allow, the crap these people would spew over it makes my diatribes look completely rational.

Blame the original poster on BT, just cut and pasted it.

thanks for all the support. We do not need to robo bomb them like in the past.

Hopefully the individual at the county will realize his idea is not such a good one.

The Airport authority has run the airport since 1970 and is self sufficient, costs the citizens of the county 0

We hope to be able to continue

thanks all

It made sense to me.

And not to be a grammar nazi myself (which means get ready for some naziing), but an indefinite article would be 'a' or 'an'. A definite article would 'the' for example. The problem in the OP was the confusing use of the third person plural pronoun 'they' and 'they're' and the third person plural possessive 'their'. These pronouns referred to different parties within the same sentence and it got a little confusing.

But it still made sense to me. Maybe I'm just on the same confusion wavelength as the OP. :D

Just voted....shows 87.1% for the airport commission so far... looking good!
