Sedona 4/25/2021

Cool nobody seriously hurt. They fly the pants off that plane since beginning of March. Wonder what happened.
 
Spring winds and Sedona can be challenging.

Landing with a bit of a tailwind though. 6 kts is just on the cusp of where the locals would usually say to land the other direction downhill into the wind. Admittedly it was less of a tailwind component but was also increasing at the time. Sounds like he lost control on the ground.

Running off to the right would be consistent with a gust from 150. Additionally the approach to Rwy 3 tends to have a bit of gurgling turbulence on short final that can throw people.
 
Good reminder: fly the plane until it ain’t moving.

I recall early in my complex flying, I almost lost it in a 177RG because I relaxed before I should have; gust from the right and had to catch it. Lucky break I managed.
 
Yikes. It’s like he tried to figure out how he could most efficiently raise GA insurance rates in one landing.
