Same plane, 4 crashes in 8 days, got to be a record

Timely. We had an A-10 come back emergency for an unsafe gun. Two hours later another A-10 with the same call sign (most likely the same pilot on the second flight of the day) come back emergency with an unsafe gun. That has never happened in my 28 years of ATC.

I'd be surprised if this didn't happen multiple times in WWII basic training. No proof, only surmising.
 
Cessna 421 down in Monterey this morning.
 
Two things I love about this story:
1) the featured photo of the pilot, smiling that smile in his lawn chair
2) the fact that he made it further east with each accident

As I said in the other thread, this guy is from my home town...There are several businesses in my town with his last name, so maybe he's related to them as well (its a small town, so most likely related in some way). I did some digging, and he built/owned/flew a lancair es for awhile (and without any incident that I can locate) so I'm not sure what his recent malfunction is...
 
I just want to play devil's advocate and give this guy the benefit of a doubt…

…just joking. I don't.
