Last week I photographed Boothbay Harbor from the air. Today(Saturday) I captured it from my boat. Coming back to my mooring, the sun was in my face. And in amongst the moorings the timing wasn't right to get a photo of the little sailboat with a dog proudly standing on the bow. So I followed the cap'n out of the harbor and with the sun behind me captured these three shots.

Harley, that's some good work to get into position for those great pictures. However, the pooch could've been on the bark, or arfthwartship, or on the poop deck, but no where was he on the bow wow.

That's a good one, Richard. As my former wife would have said, "The puppy was initially standing on the thingey covering over the two front sides of the boat."

And in addition he was not the harbor pilot on my "ship" today while it overlooked the Windjammer Days at Camden, Maine.

Fly-in at Harley's

You keep posting pictures like this one and those in you most recent postings and I'm gonna' have to come out there.

Maybe I should'a gone through with my move to Boothbay back in my 20s.

Re: Fly-in at Harley's

John - Richard (could be as confusing to some as the Lawreston - Jerry combo):

Speaking of Boothbay Harbor, I have a bunch of Boothbay Harbor aerials downloaded but not post-processed, yet. They'll soon be on my Web site. And I took a substantial group of Harbor shots from my boat on September 05. They'll be on the Web site, eventually(some of them, anyway). I nearly got busted when leaving the Harbor. I was a bit fast before I passed the NO WAKE zone. Harbor Master told me to "Be Good, next time."

I was thinking - planning a Hangar Party last summer but I got so busy I didn't get it done. It's still in the plans.

HR (the Guest Room is open. I'm only 12.5sm from Wiscasset Airport.)

EDIT: Well, here's one of the aerials of Boothbay Harbor.

Beautiful photos.

And we think the traffic pattern at the AIRPORT gets crowded. HAH! Those harbors are clogged.

Seemingly, but in numerous of my bird's-eye views of harbors there were many lonely mooring balls. Late in August it could be attributed to a lot of our "Keep Maine Green" friends having escaped back to NH, MA, NY, NJ, CT, etc. to get Johnny and Susie back to school. However, even in late July there was an abundance of boats of all sizes still sitting in their cradles. Late-comers, or was it spelled "Economy?" And of course, terrible weather throughout June and a good part of July.

I need to contact the fellow with the "Hobie Dog." He ties-up just inbound of my mooring but we're rarely on terra firma at the same time. When I can get his e-mail address I'll send him the images.
