Sailplane

Those are slick. All the inconveniences of a hang glider mixed with all the inconveniences of sailplanes.:D The big catch is for the same price you can get a used sailplane that would smoke it performance wise. If you lived somewhere with a good mix of HG launches it could be cool.

I keep telling my wife I am going to try that and if I like it, buy a sailplane/glider/that thing, or something like it.

Retractable gear, cool video. Going to stick with power Thanks

Great for a hang glider pilot! A little slow in our strong western soaring conditions.

I couldn't help it sitting here with flygirl we busted out laughing about the same time and I said "you know, pilots are ****ing crazy when you think about it, they'll get in anything to leave the ground."

It's a weird obsession like hoarding or bull riding.

I can see how it makes no damn sense to some people when you look at it from afar.

Looks like a very high performance version of a rigid wing hang glider to me. If you don't mind the long assembly and disassembly time, it looks like a lot of fun, provided you have an appropriate launch. There are a number of footlaunch sites that wouldn't accommodate a glider with that much wingspan.

Compared to full weight sailplanes that thing looks easy. Connections might be fiddly, but the bits are light. Set up is another one where paragliders win.:D

If you ran with it on a treadmill, would it takeoff? ;)

It has to cost a (relative) small fortune to be light enough to pick up and run with, otherwise it looks very cool to me!

OK, it's damned expensive. Looks like the enclosed glider with trailer will set you back well over $100k. Nice toy for rich boys, I suppose.

Gaah, that's crazy. A new ATOS (rigid wing hang glider) is less than $25K, and a Wills Wing T2 (high performance flex wing hang glider) is $7000.

Yup. I'm still looking forward to some warm weather, I want to try a tandem ride at Lookout Mountain this spring.
