A terrified aircraft passenger leapt from a plane as it prepared to crash land with engine failure.

The unnamed man became gripped with panic when the two-seater Tiger Moth lost power at 1,000ft.

As the pilot made a 40mph emergency approach to land at a farm the passenger unstrapped his safety belt, climbed on to the wing and jumped out.
...

Investigators found that in two earlier flights in the plane the same passenger closed the throttle "without warning".

Bizarrely, he said he had done it because he wanted to give pilots the "opportunity to practise unplanned forced landing procedures". He denied closing the throttle on the latest occasion.

AND THEY LET HIM FLY AGAIN EACH TIME?
:hairraise:

"Promise you'll be a good chap and won't kill the engine this time..."

"The passenger worked for... Delta aviation."
Note the past tense on that word... phew!!

As they say over there, this man's a looney.

That's why I don't let certain people in the plane as passengers...

As a result of this accident, the company’s Operations
Manual now states:
‘commanders are not to tolerate unusual actions
by subordinate crew members: for example the
initiation of simulated engine failures. Such
indiscretions are to be reported to a standardisation
pilot.’

Gee, you think?
