Let's start it on Thur this time so that one guy that can never get there on the first day gets an additional day to negotiate the weather. Also means those of us that are slow have a longer break in their flying even though they will be in a Cirrus, or their "new to them" Bonanza or Mooney at that time.

I feel the group agreed Rough River Dam was preferable to the KY Dam State park.

Airport identifier: 2I3

I believe we had 26 attendees this year.

I added a 2nd tab for 2020 to the existing signup sheet:

In!!! I was going to ask about making reservations when I checked out. :)

I dunno. The people there this year were pretty lame. There wasn't even any scaling of airport beacons.

Definitely need this as its own category like the other fly-ins.

9 to 15 hours each way depending on plane. Put me in the super jealous “maybe” category

I will offer up a monthly sacrifice to the weather gods to avoid another Toad Strangler in Ohio next year so I can fly in to the Fly-in.

“I’ll be baack”, probably not in a ‘75 Nova. And definitely not in the Sleazy Motel.

Cheers

How do you guys do it? This ultra long range planning bit. I don’t know for sure what I’m doing next week. A year out is inconceivable.

OTOH Sue and I definitely want to go.

Priorities. :D

Seriously though, for me these are my weekend plans for the next 52 weeks: 2 bowling tournaments, and 6Y9. That's it. I have no solidified plans on any other weekends. So I know that I'm going to be open next spring. No kids, no grand kids, no nephews, or nieces. And no significant other who wants to do other things. So my weekends are pretty much guaranteed to be open.

As Chief Pilot, I approve vacations. :)

On the other side of EdFred’s situation, with two daughters, four grandkids, three brothers, one sister, a collection of nieces and nephews and assorted female friends, there’s something every weekend if not everyday.

So I block items like this ahead of time and let the chips fall where they may. As the Titular head of the Clan, I have earned it:cool:

Cheers

That's the same thing I tell my wife when we plan out our camping trips. I want to plan them well in advance, she wants to wait until the last minute in case something more important, in her mind, comes up. I like having trips lined up out into the future, which gives me something to look forward to.

Still waiting for reports on the musical genre/artist of choice by the lead guitarist this year? ;)
CCCCCCCCC...Clapton?
Just askin' :D

....

Okay, clearly time for us to organize a PNW delegation to this (soon to be legendary?) PoA event!!
Enough vicarious watching from the internet sidelines.

It was a mix of Tenacious D, John Denver, Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks and 4 Non Blondes

I'd actually go with you if we could carpool in yours. I can knock out my ME rating before then so I can play safety pilot if need be.

The Aztec is just coming out of the shop after an extensive annual. Test flight next Monday if it ever stops snowing here. I'll let you know next planned trip to RNT. Maybe we'll finally get in that meeting and flight. ;)

I don't usually make plans this far out, but I enjoy this group so much, I want to get it on the books. Plus, I've worked the exact same 7 on 7 off schedule for more than a decade. Pretty easy to figure.

Nobody check the weather.

I’m looking forward to it. I have a major home construction project that’s consumed my last year wrapping up this weekend so I’m ready to do fun things again!

Lol! I actually had to look it up to see which airport you talking about (KFFC) since over the last couple years, all the outlying airports have changed their name to Atlanta-something to try to attract incoming traffic. FFC is well Southwest of the city. I live North of the city, so it’s a good 55 miles from me. I fly out of PDK, which is closer to downtown, but still on the North side. Lance is out of CVC, due east of Atlanta.

Unfortunately, I’m flying the next three days. How long are you here?

Heading back to TN tomorrow and back to OH Saturday. We have been visiting with Jeannettes #2 son. He lives in Fayetteville, but we have been at the KOA in Cassville since Monday night. Long commute everyday to see him, I'm tired. No decent places to camp any closer to him.

I flew info PDK a long long time ago when I was building churches. I never even thought about the close proximity to Atlanta for this leg of our trip. Not that we have had any down time. We have made the almost three hour round trip 4 days in a row. Today is the earliest we have made it back to the campground at about 1900.

Have a safe trip. Catch ya later on POA.

I will now un-hijack this thread.

So eman1200 must still be recovering from this year's affair? His last post was a month ago.

I will not speak on behalf of him, but I think the ejection handle pulled may have sent him off seeking greener pastures. :(
