I am interested to know more about whether a rooted Android tablet has any problems for use as an EFB. Do any of you have personal experience in this field? I'm pretty green on the issues of rooting so if there is a good website discussing the benefits I'd be happy to check it out. In particular, I am disappointed at the storage and SD card use of the Samsung. I also eschew most of their apps. This device would be used for EFB, net surfing and document storage.

I have used a rooted and non-rooted tablet for EFB. Honesty, I see little to no benefit to rooting a tablet only used as EFB.

I have a rooted tablet and rooted phone that I use with iFly,I can't recall having any issue because of it. Really the main reason I rooted historically was to be able to block advertising at the cellular data level with things like AdAway. However, I'm using a VPN now that's tied to a PiHole for ad and tracker blocking so I guess it's not really necessary any longer, but they are still rooted.
