Even though I have a PPL, I'm not current and haven't been for many years. Somehow I'd like to find a 172 pilot who wants a ride along to split to cost so that I can get back into the air for a few hours as a precursor to going up with an instructor. What's a good way to find someone? (The Internet didn't exist the last time I flew.)

if you're NOT CURRENT, you shouldn't be taking passengers, no? I feel like you have it backwards, go up with CFI first, then split some time.

I didn't see him mention passengers, he wants to ride along, right-seat with a current pilot and pay for his share.

oh ok, looks like I misread that.

I suspect this is as good a way as any. Hopefully someone in the area will reply to this.

Oh yea, and Welcome to POA!
